Destination: Key West, FL

For our 10yr Anniversary, Mike and I celebrated in Key West. It was awesome! Thursday morning, we left the children behind (in the more than capable hands of my bff Paula) and flew to Miami. We rented a convertible and drove the 3hrs to Key West. It was gorgeous! The weather was perfect every day. Highs in the low 80's, lows in the mid 60's. Perfect. We came home on Sunday and it was good to get back and see the kids. Next time we go, I plan to move there.....:) Pics below:
(The very small car we rented.....)The Southern most point of the US - standing here we were closer to Cuba than to Miami.Us at a restaurant waiting for the sunset....Me with some Pirates and yes, that's a REAL bird. I was mortified!
We had an awesome trip and can't wait to go back!

Oh! I almost forgot Kenny. He was there..... :)

Wonderful weekend!

I hope everyone had a great weekend. We sure did. It was very busy, but the weather was gorgeous and we were able to get out and have fun! It started off early Saturday morning (7am). I was able to sing at this year's Mission Conference which helped connect people with the different missions our church will be taking this year. It was awesome! Then from there I got to hang out with Gracie Smith for a few hours while her Mom and Dad were busy, busy. We took Carly to softball practice where she is getting back into the swing of things! It was so good to see her back on the field. (without a cast or crutches!) Then, we had worship team practice which is always fun - about 50, 6-11 yr olds praising God, loud and proud. Then it was time for lunch. WHEW! :) Paula picked up Grace and me and the offspring headed to St. James Boat Club for the Children's Miracle Network fishing tournament. It was packed and so much fun. The weather was beautiful and Slaughter Logging and the gang served it up with OLOL and others to help the kids through CMN! Then out to Hymels in Convent, LA for some raw oysters and fried catfish. Then home to bed.....gotta be back at church at 6:45am with a time change thrown in there.
It was all good, Carly and I did slip off to the mall for a couple of hours, but then right back to church. We finished our weekend with a 9pm trip to Winn Dixie for drinks for the kids lunches and ran into some good friends and had to chat for a while. An Awesome weekend! Pics below!

Carly throwing 'em out at first!

CJ hangin' out with the current Miss Louisiana and (I think) Miss Teen Louisiana at the fishing tournament. Who would have thought that these two beauty queens were originally from Georgia. Hmmm. :)
